A port of the chest piece from Clive's alternative glamourable armour in FFXVI for TBSE.
As FFXVI on PC is very new, porting this has been a steep learning curve, so there are a few known imperfections:
- I've done my best with the weights, but capes are tricky so the cloak weighting is not perfect.
- For some godsforsaken reason, the hood on the original FFXVI model is split across two entirely separate meshes in a weird place. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to hold perfectly together in FFXIV, and I sadly don't have the skills to combine it and redo the UV maps myself. It's only majorly noticeable in some more extreme poses/animations.
- I had to yeet a few of the more extraneous random little bits of metal & straps because they would just not weight properly around the TBSE body.
- There's some slight clipping around the left wrist. It's barely noticeable, and it was fine in Blender, so I have no idea why it's there.
- It won't glow like the one in XVI. I'm not skilled enough to try and take a Luminous Engine emissive map and line it up with colourset IDs for Crystal Tools.
- It's not glove compatible. The seams were just not in the right places. You can put gloves on though, and if you're lucky it might not clip though? Alas the Baronial Gloves I can confirm have clipping.
- There's a neck seam from some angles. I'm really not sure why. I'll try to fix it in a future update.
I've included a capeless option which fixes most of the above by yeeting the cape and hood! Edna Mode approves!
Thanks:
- Many thanks to gy0z (https://heliosphere.app/user/8hxj6jvtg12m7adaeh7sy69yq4) for all the help in understanding the FFXVI textures - I couldn't have done the mask without them!
- FF16 Tools on Github and the FFXVI Modding discord server for all their amazing resources to help me extract the models and textures from my copy of FFXVI.
- Tsar for TBSE.
